This day is a time to honour and remember Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQI+ individuals who have lost their lives to violence, while also bringing attention to the ongoing crisis affecting these communities.
The red dress symbol, created by Métis artist Jaime Black, is used in public installations to represent those who are missing or have been murdered.
